Week 7 marks the start of the A7FL Playoffs, where every game is win-or-go-home. With just four teams from each conference remaining, the results this weekend will determine the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds in both the Eastern and Western Conferences and decide who advances to the A7FL Final Four in Week 8 on May 17.
The pressure is real. The margins are thin. And only the teams that execute under playoff intensity will continue their pursuit of The 7s Cup.
Three high-stakes matchups headline the opening round of the postseason.
Lexington Phantoms (4–2) vs Paterson U (4–1)

The Eastern Conference playoff slate opens with a rematch that carries real history from earlier in the season.
The Lexington Phantoms handed Paterson U their only loss of the year, defeating them on the road in Lexington earlier in the regular season. That result remains one of the most significant games of the season and gives the Phantoms confidence heading into the postseason.
However, Paterson U has proven their championship credentials since then. Lead by QB Quatrell Huffin, They hold a statement win over the 2025 champions, Trenton BIC, while the Phantoms fell to BIC earlier this season in Lexington.
With both teams already owning major wins against top competition, this playoff meeting becomes the ultimate tiebreaker. The Phantoms proved they could beat U once, now Paterson has a chance to return the favor with a trip to the Final Four on the line.

This Eastern Conference showdown may feature two of the most dangerous teams in the entire league.
Trenton BIC, the 2025 A7FL Champions, return to the playoffs with a 4–2 record and the experience of a team that knows how to win in big moments. Their roster remains loaded with playmakers like Kason Campbell and Ashante Worthy capable of turning any possession into points.
Across the field, the Silk City Animals finished the season 4–1 and have been one of the most explosive offenses in the league throughout 2026 lead by quarterback David Tender.
Both teams are legitimate championship contenders, and only one will move forward toward the Final Four.

The Western Conference playoff picture comes down to a fierce Vegas rivalry.
Both the Silver State Stealth and Las Vegas Sickwidit finished the regular season 3–2, setting up a high-stakes showdown where the winner advances and the loser sees their season come to an end.
The Stealth have relied on disciplined defense and timely scoring throughout the year, while Sickwidit has proven they can produce explosive plays when the game opens up.
With a spot in the A7FL Final Four on the line, expect intensity from the opening possession to the final whistle.

Week 7 will determine which teams survive and advance into Week 8’s A7FL Final Four on May 17, where the remaining contenders will battle for a place in The 7s Championship.
