Vikings vs BIC Game Recap

In a game that could foreshadow the nail-biting A7FL playoff action to come, the Trenton BIC came away with a hard fought 38 to 30 win against a tenacious Baltimore Vikings squad. BIC QB Sterry Codrington was a dual-threat all day long, going 10/18 for 172 yards with 2 TDs and 1 interception in the air while rushing for 192 yards and a TD on 12 carries. Deon McDaniel (2), Ashante “Hollywood” Worthy (2) and Kason “Special K” Campbell all scored for BIC.  Codrington threw his lone interception with under a minute left to play in the 4th quarter that gave the Vikings one more chance to try to take the game into OT. But the BIC defense — led by Casey “White Mamba” Fennesy’s 2 sacks, 10 tackles and disruptive presence all game long — held firm and locked down the W for BIC.

The Vikings had some stellar performances in defeat including Jermaine “Juice Main”  Whittington with 12 carries for 137 yards and 2 TDs and QB Sly Boogie who – despite taking hard hits throughout the day – racked up 111 rushing yards and kept the Vikings within striking distance throughout the game. 

Meanwhile, last year’s Champions Patterson U got a last-minute bye in Sunday’s first round of the playoffs as the Bulldogs, facing numerous personnel issues, were forced to forfeit. In place of that game, FITE fans were treated to a premiere broadcast of the Renegades vs BIC from early May. The Renegades kept the game close throughout behind the exceptional play of QB Cory Hammond, who at 34 years old played what A7FL Commissioner Ryan DePaul called “The game of his life.” But in the end, the BIC’s relentless attack was too much for the Renegades and the BIC walked away with a 46-24 victory.
