The Road to the A7FL Championship Begins!

The road to the A7FL Championship begins this weekend! Eight teams from four divisions will fight for their spot in the National Final Four on July 11th with the ultimate goal of a league title and the $10,000 championship prize to be awarded on July 18th.

The Northeast Final Four playoff consists of the top two seeds from both New Jersey and Maryland. This Sunday, June 27, the undefeated Paterson U squad (8-0) will face the Baltimore Cobras (4-4), runner-up in the Maryland Division, in the 1:30 PM ET match-up LIVE on FITE.  No team in the A7FL has been hotter than Paterson U – including a 21-14 win over Trenton BIC (7-1) two weeks ago – but will they bounce back after the BIC came close to handing them their first loss?

Speaking of BIC, their consolation prize for finishing second to Paterson U is a date with another unbeaten squad, Baltimore’s top-ranked Gators (8-0). Can BIC take down the undefeated Gators to force a rematch with their New Jersey rival or will Northeast bragging rights be on the line with a match-up of 9-0 squads?

2021, the A7FL’s 7th season, marks the first Division Championships for the league’s expansion teams from California and Florida.

On the West Coast, the Los Angeles Aces have been unstoppable at 7-0. Can they keep the streak alive against the 4-3 San Diego Shockwave? The Shockwave have a chip on their shoulder and, for the first time this season they’ll have their complete roster on hand, so they expect this game to end very differently than when these two squads met on May 23 when LA scored a 39-18 victory.

The winner of this SoCal game will await the winner of the Florida Division Championship between the 5-1 Tampa A-Team and 4-2 Orlando Ghosts.  In their inaugural campaign, both of these teams have been closely watching the Northeast teams and feel that they’re more than ready to give these more established NJ and Baltimore squads a run for their money.

Speaking of money, this season the A7FL features $20,000 in total prize money. Each Divisional Champion will receive $2,500 and  the teams will compete for a $10,000 grand prize in July 18th’s National Championship.
