Week 6 of A7FL Season 12 saw the top teams hit their stride as the playoff race continues to take shape. The Lexington Phantoms extended their winning momentum becoming the first Southern/Midwest team to win an A7FL Playoffs match, Trenton BIC delivered the highest-scoring performance of the week notching 60 against the Heathens to end their season, and the Las Vegas Insomniacs continued their push in the Western Conference with a dominant win at home to remain atop of the leaderboard.
With the postseason picture getting clearer, every game carries major weight towards The 7s Championship and this Sunday will decide who gets into the A7FL Final Four!
Week 6 Final Scores
Lexington Phantoms (4–2) def. East Orange Renegades (1–5), 45–13
Asbury Park, NJ
The Lexington Phantoms continued their strong run with a convincing 45–13 win over the East Orange Renegades. Lexington’s offense found rhythm early and kept the pressure on throughout the game, while the defense limited the Renegades’ scoring opportunities. The victory keeps the Phantoms firmly in the playoff race as they continue to climb the standings.
Las Vegas Insomniacs (4–1) def. Silver State Stealth (3–2), 56–30
Henderson, NV (Pinecrest)
The Las Vegas Insomniacs delivered one of the most explosive offensive performances of the season, defeating the Silver State Stealth 56–30. Big plays and consistent scoring drives helped the Insomniacs pull away, while the Stealth battled throughout but couldn’t keep pace with the Vegas offense.
Trenton BIC (4–2) def. Virginia Heathens (0–6), 60–13
Asbury Park, NJ
Trenton BIC put together the most dominant performance of Week 6, overwhelming the Virginia Heathens 60–13. BIC’s offense exploded for the highest point total of the week while the defense kept the Heathens from gaining momentum. The win strengthens BIC’s position in the Eastern Conference playoff race.
Playoff Race Tightening
With six weeks in the books, the race toward The 7s Championship is intensifying.
The Silk City Animals remain among the conference leaders despite one loss, while the Lexington Phantoms and Trenton BIC continue building momentum in the Eastern Conference.
Out west, the Las Vegas Insomniacs strengthened their position with a high-scoring win, while Las Vegas Sickwidit also remains firmly in the hunt. Look for the Stealth to take on Sickwidit in Week 7 for a win or go home battle.
