Thirteen Seasons. Thirteen Championships. The Kentucky Blitz marks the next milestone in the A7FL’s continued national expansion.
LEXINGTON, KY — August 11, 2026 — The American 7s Football League (A7FL) is proud to announce the Kentucky Blitz as the league’s newest expansion franchise, officially joining the A7FL for its landmark 13th season in 2027.
The Kentucky Blitz will carry the torch for A7FL football in the Commonwealth following the relocation of the Lexington Phantoms to the Little Miami area near Cincinnati, Ohio. As the league’s second Midwest franchise, the Blitz represents another major milestone in the A7FL’s continued expansion across the United States.
Built on speed, physicality, and community, the Kentucky Blitz will introduce a new era of full-contact football to fans throughout Kentucky while creating opportunities for local athletes, coaches, creators, and football supporters to become part of one of the fastest-growing football leagues in America.
“The Kentucky Blitz represents everything we’re looking for as we continue to grow the A7FL,” said Sener Korkusuz, CEO and Co-Founder of the A7FL. “Kentucky is an important market for the A7FL. We’re building west, and we need strong markets and strong people to build this league with us. The Kentucky Blitz is an opportunity to establish a real home for A7FL football in the Commonwealth and give local players a chance to compete in a completely different kind of football environment.”
The Blitz joins an expanding Midwest footprint that serves as an important anchor in the league’s long-term western expansion strategy. As the A7FL continues adding new divisions and markets nationwide, Kentucky becomes a key piece in connecting the league’s growing national network of franchises.
“Owning the Little Miami Phantoms and now the Kentucky Blitz gives us a unique opportunity to help build the A7FL’s presence across the Midwest. The move to Little Miami gives the Phantoms a great new home in the Cincinnati market, while the Blitz allows us to keep a strong Kentucky presence and build something specifically for Kentucky. We’re not looking at these as two teams competing for the same territory. We see them as complementary franchises that can help grow A7FL football throughout the region, create more opportunities for players, and build a stronger Midwest presence for the league,” said Anthony Tolliver, owner of TPG Sports.
