A7FL Cincinnati Division Announces Expansion Teams For 2022

A7FL Cincinnati Division 2022 Teams

A7FL Cincinnati, one of the five new American 7s Football League divisions (and of nine in total) for 2022, announced today its four teams that will battle for a record $50,000 prize pool and the 8th A7FL Championship.

The division, owned by entrepreneur Joseph Perez, will not only represent Cincinnati but the Ohio Valley which connects Ohio to neighboring Kentucky.  With deep football roots on both sides of the river at the professional, collegiate, and high school levels, these four teams will be entrenched in a fierce rivalry beginning this April with the A7FL’s 2022 season.

Leading things are the Cincinnati Chilis.  “Cincinnati is known for our chili and soon the Cincinnati Chilis will be as renowned for their brand of blue-collar football,” commented Perez. Can this team be as synonymous with success as the dish is synonymous with the city they play in? Only time will tell.

One team standing across from the Chilis this season will be the Queen City Crush, adorned in royal purple and silver and taking their city’s nickname and a phrase that lives at the heart of the A7FL’s all-action/all-heart style of football.

With Cincinnati known as the “City of Seven Hills,”  the Cincy 7’s will take the field in 2022 looking to send their opponents rolling down to the lowest points of the Ohio Valley. “When looking at options for our Cincinnati franchises, we wanted to honor different aspects of the city’s rich history,” A7FL Marketing Director Howard Sadel explained. “Having the natural alignment between our unique style of play and the unique topography of the Queen City made this an easy choice for this great new division.”

The Covington Heist are not only the fourth team in this division but also the American 7s Football League’s first-ever Kentucky franchise.  Just across the Ohio River from Cincinnati, the Covington Heist denote a time in American history where bootlegging and driving out the enemy didn’t just take place on the football field.  “The Covington Heist demonstrates our desire to represent not just Cincinnati, but the entire Ohio Valley region in the A7FL,” added Joe Perez. “Our area’s passion for football extends past the Ohio River and we cannot wait to see if Covington can steal the hearts of fans in Kentucky, Ohio, or across the A7FL landscape.”

With five additional divisions joining the A7FL for 2022, be on the lookout for more announcements about the league’s exciting new teams for 2022!
