Game 1: Paterson U vs DC Buzz

Final Score – 31-12 Paterson U (2-0) over DC Buzz (0-2)

The Paterson U and the DC Buzz collided in our first Game of the Week. After a dominant first quarter which saw the U go up 13-0, the U continued their dominance into the second quarter, scoring two more touchdowns to take a 25-0 lead into halftime. The Buzz had no answer for Dekyri Mims in the first half, with Mims accumulating two receiving touchdowns. The defense for the U stood strong as well, only allowing 56 rushing yards and 29 passing yards in the first half.

The Buzz came into the second half with a different fire, outscoring the U 12-0 in the third quarter, making the score 25-12 going into the fourth. The Buzz defense came to play in this half, getting a pick six and providing constant pressure on Paterson U QB Carlos Croslin. The play that turned this game back to the U’s favor came with three minutes left in the fourth quarter. A tipped pass caught by Buzz offensive lineman Michael Redwood was stripped away by the U defense, setting them up in great field position and resulting in a receiving touchdown from Steven Jones Jr. Final: Paterson U 31, DC Buzz 12

Game 2: Trenton BIC (1-0) vs. Baltimore Watchmen (0-1)
4:00 PM ET

Final Score: 36-27 Trenton BIC over Baltimore Watchmen

In a much-anticipated matchup, the Trenton BIC took on the Baltimore Watchmen. To say this game lived up to the hype is an understatement. The game was back and forth throughout the first half, with both teams trading blows like you’d expect to see in a championship fight. The BIC scored first with a Sterry Codrington touchdown pass to Q Bell, but the Watchmen would not roll over, as they would respond to each of BIC’s first two touchdowns. The BIC then scored a touchdown off of a Codrington pass to Ashante Worthy to put the BIC up 18-13 with just under two minutes left in the half. The following possession, quarterback Lenny Manziel is stripped by the BIC defense and they take it all the way for a touchdown, expanding the BIC lead to 24-13 going into halftime.

The second half saw the BIC expand upon their lead as they would score on the opening drive of the half with a touchdown pass from Codrington to Hollywood. But much like the first half, the Watchmen would respond with a passing touchdown of their own to Marlin “Tony Toe Tap” Anderson to keep it a two-score game. Following another touchdown from each side, the score was 36-27, and BIC would take the lead into the fourth quarter. The scoring proceeded to halt in the fourth, with both defenses digging in their heels and refusing to back down. Kason Campbell would seal the win for the BIC with an interception at the 1:55 mark of the fourth quarter, as the BIC would run out the clock and come out with a hard-fought win between two championship contenders. Final: BIC 36, Baltimore Watchmen 27

Game 3: North Vegas Kryptonite vs. Vegas Hunter
7:00 PM ET

Final Score: 47-18 North Vegas Kryptonite over the Vegas Hunters

In the final Week Two Game of the Week, the matchup between the Vegas Hunters and Vegas Kryptonite started out with a bang as the Hunters took the opening throw-off for a touchdown. The Kryptonite would respond with a touchdown of their own, taking a 7-6 lead. After another passing touchdown from the Kryptonite and a response from the Hunters, the score was 14-12. Then the scoring screeched to a stop and it was interceptions galore, as four straight possessions ended in a takeaway through the air for the defenses. The Kryptonite would then capitalize on an interception by taking it to the house, and they would take a 21-12 lead into halftime.

The second half opened up just like the first: with a Kryptonite 3-on-1 touchdown. That was a precursor of what was to come in the third, as the Kryptonite would outscore the Hunters 19-6 in the quarter and extend their lead to 22 going into the fourth. The Kryptonite never looked back and would score one more touchdown in the fourth while shutting out the Hunters in the entire second half. Final: Kryptonite 47 Hunters 18
