A7FL Expansion, San Diego / West Coast gets the Green Light!

The A7FL will be expanding into the West Coast this year. With a popular football culture and new appointed state commissioner, we’ve put the wheels in motion for an A7FL National Championship. “I’m beyond excited to be the pioneer for the West Coast,” says Elliott Thomas a former rugby player for San Diego State. Thomas inquired with A7FL CEO Sener Korkusuz about leading the charge early in 2018. “Im looking to see the A7FL can grow to be as big as possible. My goal is to reconnect with some former high school and college players that want to get back on the field,” says Thomas. He already has commitments from teams in Los Angeles, Riverside, and various parts of San Diego.

At 41 years old, Thomas has never been married and doesn’t have kids.  Aside from playing college rugby he was also an accomplished high school football player with some semi-pro experience. Thomas will head a region that has been a hotbed for prospecting A7FL athletes. A true national format may not be here until 2020 but we wont rule out the possibility of an East Meets West Showdown in 2019.
