After making history in their first season, A7FL’s Nevada division prepares to dominate on the field for the 2023 season with four additional teams.
With the Vegas Force being the first expansion team and non-east coast team ever to win an A7FL playoff game, they look to be the outside favorite to make a run towards the championship from the Silver state in 2023.
But new competition has emerged from the desert, as four expansion teams will join the Force, Pit Bosses, and Insomniacs on the field in 2023.
The first team looking to strike it rich in Sin City is the Vegas Gold.
Named after one of the state’s most popular exports, the Gold look to shine on both sides of the ball, looking to rush the competition and reserve a spot in the A7FL Championship game.
A team that will stand across from them this season will be the Vegas Hunters. Based on the infamous personas of author Hunter S. Thompson, they look to instill fear and loathing into their opponents and become the high watermark for A7FL football beginning in 2023.
“The Gold and the Hunters look to provide not only more opportunities for players across the west coast to get seen on the field but also build off of our city’s amazing history and connections to culture,” said A7FL Nevada founder and owner Derek Duncan.
The third team joining the Silver State’s efforts to bring home A7FL Championship Glory is a team that looks to bring down the superpowers of the A7FL.
The North Vegas Kryptonite looks to live up to their namesake and stifle anyone who dares challenge their path to glory in 2023.
“Seeing the power of other teams in the A7FL, we wanted a team that exemplified what we want to be in this league,” Duncan said when discussing the new teams. “The legacy teams of the A7FL are superheroes to many longtime fans of this league, and sometimes just a little bit of Kryptonite may bring them to their knees.”
The final team making the 702 their home in 2023 is the Over The Top, who look to do that to any defense, whether it’s a goal-line stand or a high-arcing ball heading towards the endzone.
“The phrase is one that, much like the A7FL will one day, be synonymous with the sport of football,” Duncan stated to A7FL officials when submitting the new teams to the league.
“The Nevada division, whether it’s Vegas or Reno, we look to make a statement in 2023 because there’s unfinished business for us,” Duncan concluded.
