David Meltzer Joins A7FL Advisory Board

David Meltzer A7FL Advisory Board

Get to know…David Meltzer.

By Marlon LeWinter

David Meltzer is rather unique as he is both a division owner (Los Angeles) as well as a new member of the A7FL’s Advisory Board.  He is the Co-founder of Sports 1 Marketing (with NFL Hall of Fame QB Warren Moon) and formerly served as CEO of the renowned Leigh Steinberg Sports & Entertainment agency, which was the inspiration for the movie Jerry Maguire.

David is a three-time international best-selling author, a Top 100 Business Coach, the executive producer of Bloomberg and Amazon’s TV shows “2 Minute Drill” and “Office Hours” and he is the host of the top entrepreneur podcast “The Playbook.” His latest book “Game-Time Decision Making“ was a #1 new release.

We sat down with David to get a better understanding of how he plans to help take the A7FL to new heights.

(This interview has been edited for length and clarity)

Q: Why did you decide to join forces with the A7FL?

A: I initially heard about the league when interviewing league CEO Sener Korkusuz for my podcast and as soon as I saw the play on the field, I knew I had to be involved. Throughout my time in the sports marketing industry, I had the pleasure of working with some of the greatest athletes and I love the authenticity of the A7FL. These are guys who just love the game of football. You can’t teach that passion

Q: What is it about the league that has that “it” factor?

A: As a lifelong football fan, I love what the A7FL has to offer. Padless football makes for high-intensity games and some huge hits!

Q: As an advisor, what do you think you can bring to the table as you also are experiencing the league as an owner?

A: I’ve seen the spirit of excellence that Hall of Famers and legends bring each and every day, and I look forward to doing the same for A7FL. I am proud to be both an owner and a member of the Advisory Board. We have some fantastic and extremely talented people on board. I’ve said it before and I will say it again: I truly believe the sky’s the limit for this league!

Q: Can you share some of your future plans or ideas you hope to implement?

A: I’m really looking at how we can use content to give A7FL fans even more ways to connect with their favorite players and coaches. We live in a digital world. It’s not just the action on the field, it’s bringing these players and their stories to life and connecting them with the right audience. It’s taking them inside the huddle and the locker room and not just the game-winning drive. That’s something the A7FL has already touched on but that I think we can do much more of in the future.

Q: What do you see as the long-term growth of the league?

A: I can’t wait to see what the future of the league holds as we continue to elevate the league and its players and show everyone what the A7FL is made of.
